CONGRATULATIONS to our ALL BLACKS-

BRILLIANT!!!

New Lynn School's Rugby World Cup 2011

Opening of the Rugby World Cup 2011

An exciting day for everyone. We painted our faces the colours that represented our chosen country. We made flags and banners. We chose our adopted country’s national anthem to sing on the day. We enjoyed a sausage sizzle for lunch and we played Ripper Rugby until we were too tired to play any longer.

We especially celebrated our mighty All Blacks representing us in this spectacular Rugby World Cup event.

We all played Ripper Rugby and enjoyed a great day.

Medals were presented to the winning teams, drink bottles for spot prizes, certificates, balloons and memorabilia to remind us of the part we had played in New Zealand’s history, 2011. Thank you teachers for organising our RWC event.

New Lynn School had a special assembly where the 2011 Rugby World Cup was launched by the NZ Rugby Union.  We were amazed at the trophies which were brought for us to see: The Hillary Shield, Webb Ellis Cup, Bledisloe Cup and the World Rugby Cup.  We were not allowed to touch the cups but managed to have our phoros taken with them.  Rarely do people ever get to see all of the trophies in one place.  The rugby mascot 'Rugger-Bee' also treated us to a visit.
