When children have learnt most of the alphabet letters and many sounds, we give 'Word bags' for homework. These basic words (also known as 'high frequency' words) are useful to know by sight. With help at home from parents, many children enjoy learning them and seeing the progress they are making in reading by knowing them.
Every Friday, children sit with Ms Linda and have their alphabet or words checked individually.
