Kelson Girls' Mandarin and Matariki Celebration
On Thursday 23rd June Room 4 attended the Mandarin Celebration at Kelston Girls’ College. Our children got to participate in a wide range of activities organised and run by senior students – some of whom were former New Lynn Primary students. Activities included: a relay picking up and passing lollies with chopsticks, tai chi, a Maori stick game involving balancing and quick reactions, hockey, handball, and learning facts about different Pacific Islands. Our students were assigned to houses and they received points for their participation and knowledge. They came in first and second place. The Kelston girls were very caring, supportive and positive.  The New Lynn students really enjoyed the great range of activities to participate in.
