Our Annual School Concert 2011 - "Lao Lao of Dragon Mountain"
Lao Lao of Dragon Mountain is a beautiful Chinese tale full of a sense of traditions of ancient Chinese stories. It reflects the culture of China and provokes thoughts about the danger of greed...
Long ago in the country of China there lived a young maiden called Lao Lao. While the men learned the art of war shew learned the art of folding and cutting. The seasons came and went as Lao Lao became an old woman. She lived in a tiny village which lay cradled in the foothills of Lung Shan -the mountain where the Ice Dragon reigned...

Our Annual School Concert 2010 - "The Legend of the Seven Whales"
Mrs Lofi Lauese and her talented team of musicians, prop makers, technicians, dancers, narrators, actors, stage managers, videographers and costume designers all pulled together once again to create our magnificent school concert.
The story The Legend of the Seven Whales was about a mighty tohunga named Hereheretau. He was so powerful that people were afraid to whisper his name. In his care were seven whales –Tuhutoria, Takitaki, Korito, Onepoto, Iwitea, Tuhara, and Hikunui. Each day the whales ventured out to sea and in the evening they came back to tell Hereheretau what they had learnt. One morning when the whales had not returned to the ocean before sunrise the tohunga cursed them and turned them into hills. Today you can see the hills east of Wairoa –Tahutoria, Takitaki, Korito, Onepoto, Iwitea, Tuhara and Hikunui.

Our Annual School Concert 2009 - "Seasons"
Every year Mrs Lauese and her team of performing artists write and produce our school concert. We practise hard during terms 2 and 3. In term four we have our dress rehearsal at Avondale College, during the day. Then a week later we perform at night to our family, friends and whanau at the Avondale College’s Performing Arts Theatre.
Last year the atmosphere buzzed with excitement from the beginning to the end of our concert. The stage lights made us hot, but that did not deter us from performing another amazingly, brilliant show to the delight of our teachers, parents, friends, whanau and local school community.
